Roaring River State Park, Missouri

We have arrived at Roaring River Missouri. We were able to get our travel trailer in with no problems. Our campsite was wonderful!

Once I put out my Hummingbird feeder they were fighting to get at the juice. There are some greedy Hummingbirds at The Roaring River State Park that want it all for them selves.

We decided to break out our new bicycles and ride around the park grounds and get some exercise as well as some great snap shots.

This fellow was rustling around behind our campsite. It is an Armadillo for those of you who never seen anything like it before.

We spotted the playground near the river and I thought I would get a shot for the parents who have children.

This guy wanted my attention. He kept barking at his Momma as if he wanted her to bring him over to me for a meet and greet. She wouldn't do it so I took his picture without her knowledge.

There are an abundance of rainbow trout in the Roaring River being that this is a hatchery. They only allow fishing during certain times of the day.

While the hubby was having fun fly fishing I spotted this little fuzzy wig caterpillar.

Photographed below is the lodge at the Roaring River.
What else could I possibly see during our stay? Well look who ran through our campsite to say "Hello!"

There are laundry facilities at this campground and I don't know about you but I like to know just how clean these places are so I decided to take a look inside.

The laundry room wasn't bad at all in my opinion. So lets see what the public shower house looks like.

There's a pool! You definitely need a pool during the hot summer days of Missouri.

The shot below was a site you had to be there to see. I tried to photograph the memory the best I could. But this family decided it was just to much work for them to pop down their camper to move to another site. They pulled it popped up! I am not kidding! I had to see where these people are from.. no, it can't be OKLAHOMA! Yes, Oklahoma. Seems for the trouble it would have been easier just to pop the thing down.

Two Hummingbirds fly in to visit and distract me from my fellow Oklahoma peeps.

I captured a nice dew on the evergreen after a brief rain.

It is time to say goodbye to Roaring River for this year. On our way home, we spotted wild life on the streets!

This is a shot of Tulsa in the distance and just how dry the river is getting.

Sure hope you enjoyed my photo's! I will be back to share more of Nitty Gritty'a Camping!

From Minnesota to Missouri

We made it to Iowa and so we can mark this down as a state we have camped we met up with Tony from Tulsa, and Matt & Vicki Snider from Kansas they are some of our MidCon Rally friends that we met up with  at the Iowa KOA.

I must have been my usual chatty self and forgot to get more pics of the Iowa KOA. The above shot is all I have. Eek!

Once we made it to Missouri we thought we would try a new campground. It is pictured below and we decided to just keep driving by and headed on to another KOA.

We made it to KOA Kansas City East. Photographed below. It was a good place to stop for the night.

My newest traveling addition is my new Gnome I received at the MidCon Rally from our friend Rae. He reminds me of a guy we camp in Colorado with named Otis. So I named my Gnome, Otis. He's ready for traveling!

What a great place for Otis my traveling Gnome to get his picture taken. Couldn't have thought of a better place than Yonkerville, Missouri!
