Say Aloe to my little friend.. Day 1

Hello my friends and followers, it has been a while since I dropped a line into this blog. I decided today was the day! I haven’t been camping or doing much of anything outdoors in quite some time. So I am enjoying moments like today where one of my co-workers gifted me with this adorable plant for my desk.

My rather large and what appeared to me the last time I seen it before my weekend off, a thriving Poinsettia plant had been removed from my desk last Monday. At first I was livid. But I found out the girl who gifted the what looked like at the time of it being given to me, that it was a dying wilting Poinsettia plant. I turned its life around and it was thriving with new undergrowth. I was a proud mama. But the co-worker who had given me the plant noticed over the weekend that it had died so she said she took care of it. I did get a little attached to the Poinsettia and was not thrilled that I did not get to see for myself whether I could save it, but it is what it is.

I have now been given this adorable little fella from another co-worker who noticed I was a little saddened by the loss of my previous plant, It brightens up my day and I haven’t even had it 24 hrs yet! Right now it is just so darn cute I had to write about it!

Cruising Route 66

I am so excited to have a fun ride again! It is not an RV, but being able to cruise in a fun car, is almost as good. I love cruising through small towns along Route 66, Americas Highway is a great drive. Okay as long as it is not near dusk or dawn, because during that time of the day, the deer are plentiful in Arcadia, OK and it can be dangerous at 55 mph! I think I seen a total of one deer crossing sign, nowhere near where  I almost hit a  a herd of   Deer on  my first drive. It was minutes before taking this pic of my new to me ride at POPS in Arcadia, OK

Moving Out

This morning while sitting on the patio enjoying my warm morning beverage, letting the dogs stretch their legs. We spot this momma on her way out of town. She has three babies on her back!

Flower Pot Gardening

Attempting to grow a flower pot garden for the second time in my lifetime. In all honesty, I bought the plants as sprouts, and all I had to do was keep them living. Apparently I planted too early. We had two hard freezes after my planting. I moved all the pots I could indoors, and covered the plants with plastic outdoors. Before moving indoors my strawberry plant was flowering and had a red berry. I had a nice looking bell and a jalapeño plant, the bell pepper and the basil died along with the strawberry plant. The jalapeño plant lost its leaves but still has a green stem co ing out of dirt, maybe I can revive it. The Romaine, tomato, chives, oregano, cilantro, and marigolds are doing good. I feel like I’m barely hanging on to my lavender, and petunias. I attempted to start carrots and some basil from seeds, they were sprouting and outgrowing the container, so I took off the lid, and they all died.
Today I enjoyed a turkey sandwich with Romaine lettuce straight from my garden! It is so rewarding actually getting to eat what you have grown! Stay tuned for more updates in the months to come!
